Endorsement by major party for municipal office by town committee,

August 2005 Important
Dates
Special 90-day Military Blank Ballot - Election -
August 9, 2005
Special 90-day military blank ballot for all offices for military
contingencies becomes available this day upon application properly made.
Write-in Registration - August 10, 2005
First day that write-in candidates for any office being contested at
election, may register as write-in candidates with Secretary of the State.
Primary Petitions - Filing Deadline - August 10, 2005
Primary petitions for opposition candidates of a major party for
municipal offices must be submitted to respective registrars by 4:00 pm on
this day.
Notice of Primary - August 10, 2005
On filing of valid petition for municipal office, and after checking the
same, registrar notifies municipal clerk that primary is to be held and
clerk publishes registrar's notice and information concerning candidates,
primary date, hours, and location of polls, files one copy with Secretary of
the State, and records said notice.
Nominating Petitions - August 10, 2005
Last day for filing with town clerk or the Secretary of the State.
Deadline 4:00 pm
Polling Places - Primary - August 12, 2005
Last day to determine polling places for municipal primary.
Absentee Ballots - August 23, 2005
Absentee ballots for municipal primary become available on this day.
September 2005 Important
Dates
Registration and Enrollment Cut-off - September 8, 2005
Deadline for registering and/or enrolling for voting in primary unless
register in person with town clerk or registrar of voters or unless file
application for enrollment in person with registrar of voters.
Registration and Enrollment Cut-off (In Person) -
September 12, 2005
Deadline for registering in person with the registrar of voters or town
clerk if the town of residence and deadline for enrolling in person with the
registrar of voters for voting in primary.
Primary Day - September 13, 2005
Primary, if valid petition or petitions have been filed. Hours 6:00 am
to 8:00 pm

October 2005 Important
Dates
Absentee Ballots - October 7, 2005
Printed absentee ballots for the election become available to electors
on this day.
Notice of Saturday Registration Session - October 7 to
October 17, 2005
Notice of October 22, 2005 session of the Registrar of Voters of all
towns to be published at least once on or between any of these dates.
Campaign Finance Filing Date - October 7, 2005
All committees, except state central committees. The period disclosed is
July 1, 2005 through September 30, 2005, except that if the committee filed
a statement on the seventh day preceding the September 13, 2005 primary, the
period disclosed in from September 1, 2005 through September 30, 2005.
Notice of 14th Day before Election Day Registration
Session - Oct. 10 - Oct. 19, 2005
Notice of October 25, 2005 session of the Registrar of Voters of all
towns to be published at least once on or between any of these dates.
Special Registration Session - Application - October
18, 2005
Last day that 25 or more persons who are employed by the same employer
at the same place of employment in a town, or 25 or more persons who attend
the same school, college or university, or who reside at the same hospital,
residential care home, rest home, nursing home or convalescent home and
believe themselves qualified to become electors in any Connecticut town, may
sing and submit a request to the town clerk or either registrar of voters
for an admitting official to go to such place of employment, school or
residence in order to take and act upon applications for admission as
electors.
Election Officials - October 18, 2005
Last day for registrars to appoint election officials.
Saturday of 3rd Week Registration Session in All Towns
- October 22, 2005
Hours 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
14th Day before Election Day Registration Cut-off -
October 25, 2005
This is the last regular session for admission of electors for those who
become 18 years of age, U.S. Citizens, or residents of the municipality on
or before October 25, 2005.
Hours 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
November 2005 Important
Dates
Campaign Finance Filing Date - November 1, 2005
All committees, except state central committees, which have made or
recieved a contribution or expenditure in connection with the election. All
town committees in municipalities holding November elections must file on
this date regardless of whether they have made or recieved a contribution or
expenditure in connection with the election. The period disclosed is October
1, 2005 through October 26, 2005.
Unofficial Checkers - November 6, 2005
Deadline for Town Chairmen or candidates (if qualified) to designate
unofficial checkers to the registrar of voters. Registrar, at request of
his/her town chairman, shall change appointments up to close of polls.
Absentee Ballots - Deadline to Issue - November 7, 2005
Absentee ballots may not be issued on election day, except electors who
suddenly become ll within six days immediately preceding the close of the
polls at the election or who are patients in a hospital within such six-day
period, may apply for and be issued an absentee ballot up to the close of
the polls.
Election Day - Tuesday, November 8, 2005
Polls to be open 6:00 am until 8:00 pm
Electors in line by 8:00 pm permitted to vote.

registered voter, you may register to vote by mail. The Registrar's office
is located in Norwich City Hall, Room 211, 2nd Floor. Their phone number is (860)
823-3754. The Registrars are Gerald Kortfelt (R) and Nancy DePietro (D).
